“Going the Distance” Book Reviews: “The Neurodiverse Workplace” by Victoria

Let’s face it, we all want to make a living and make our mark in the world. Time after time, many of us can get a job easily thanks to a college degree and some support. I’ve been fortunate to even have a job considering that the statistics of neurodiverse/disabled individuals being unemployed is very high.

The one reason? Because many companies aren’t willing to give neurodiverse/disabled people a chance to show what they can do. What’s more is that this isn’t just reserved for the United States, it’s everywhere else and even though most of this book focused on the UK, Ireland and Australia, I could certainly relate and sympathize just as much as a citizen of those countries.

“The Neurodiverse Workplace” is a book that covers a majority of what employers and for that matter, neurotypical employees can learn from working with neurodiverse/disabled individuals. In a way, a lot of companies can benefit from hiring neurodiverse/disabled workers, but many are too scared to even try to take that chance.

If there is one thing that a lot of companies can learn from reading this book is the fact that once you’ve hired a neurodiverse/disabled individual, you can hire them all. So many of us out there are seeking that chance, but it’s next to impossible and another part of the problem is that a lot of companies just seem too reluctant, or they don’t know how to make workplaces accommodating for neurodiverse/disabled individuals.

“The Neurodiverse Workplace” can give companies and human resource personnel the inspiration to see the light that being open to embracing Diveristy, Equality and Inclusion will make their businesses grow and prosper for years to come.

Much like the other books I have reviewed, I strongly recommend that you get this book if you can so you can start learning now!!

Catch you all later!!
