Before I begin this blog, I want to make it clear that this is a blog that will NOT be about Linus Van Pelt, but much rather about how the blanket he holds is a personification or representation about the importance of having insurance for the unexpected.
…
The reason for this blog is because yesterday morning at around 3:45am, I awoke to discover that the ceiling in my apartment between my kitchen and living room was leaking leaving a wet mess on my carpet and on my hardwood floor. As someone who is neurodivergent, I found this to be one of my biggest inconveniences as this happened in my apartment of all places, not to mention that I now have a huge hole in my ceiling from where the wet portion was removed.
What is going to follow is going to be at least two weeks of work done on the apartment beginning with repairing the huge hole in my ceiling and repainting my entire ceiling to remove the stain spots. As much of an aggravation as it is, I am just thankful that had I not been at the apartment at that time, the damage could have been much worse.

Don’t blame me, guys…blame the water pipes above my apartment
But getting back to the topic of this blog, I want to strongly empathize the importance of obtaining insurance because as a neurodivergent, as hard as it is, you have to be prepared for the unexpected because it can happen at any moment. One of the areas that I always purchase insurance is when I travel because as a frequent flyer, I always have to be prepared for the unexpected because of weather, mechanical issues, etc.
You might say that insurance is a need whereas something like a PS4 or PS5 is a want, for example. We all want to use our money towards something, but there is always going to be that thought of what happens where the money is going to go in case of emergencies? One thing I always say is that you must always invest in something that is going to benefit you in the long run.
Insurance can come in a variety of ways from home insurance to car insurance and medical insurance. However, the big factor is that there is a lot to absorb when it comes to insurance. Just the aspect of something good or bad that you need to protect yourself from is enough to cause sensory overloads or meltdowns. Thankfully, neither a meltdown nor a sensory overload has happened, although this has been more aggravation than something that would cause the latter.
Let’s hope it stays that way…
