If you have been following the news, then you have been hearing about the recent Monkeypox virus that has been declared a global health emergency.
With all the negativity that I desperately try to avoid in the world, I can’t help but look at this from a humorous point of view. After having been exposed to the onslaught news coverage of COVID-19 for the past few years, I’ve come to accept that the world is the way it is and it helps me to have a sense of humor on certain topics.

The monkeypox outbreak is no different and while it is preventable, getting it is painful and miserable. As someone who had just gone through COVID-19 in the spring, I can tell you that you got to have a humorous side while being thankful that things could have been a lot worse.
A lot of neurodiverse individuals such as myself see the world differently from others and in order to make the best of a situation such as monkeypox, it’s up to us to describe monkeypox or anything that can be lampooned.
But, when it comes to Monkeypox or any illness with a funny sounding name, I can tell you that it is important that it’s best to keep our humorous views away from others who view the Monkeypox outbreak or any other otherwise serious situation to ourselves.

We can view things according to what goes on in our minds but remember that not everyone will agree and this the case in educational institutions, in the workplace or even when we are with our family and friends.
If you want to see what I think of when I hear the word “Monkeypox,” here is what goes on in my mind, but as a disclaimer, if you don’t want to view the global health crisis like I do, then by all means I will respect your decision.
